1949 Knoxville Rebels

Seventysix years ago today, the Knoxville Rebels, a professional independent team, played their first of eight games.

The team was made up of some former UT Vols, coached by Buist Warren and his assistants, Ed Cifers and Bob Suffridge, also UT Vols.

The Rebels played their games at Evans-Collins Field in Knoxville.

Knoxville College wraps up 1965 season

 The Knoxville College Bulldogs finished the 1965 season with a 4-2 record.  In their final game, they downed Lane, 42-8
